Last year, I was captivated by the enchanting Christmas windows of BHV Le Marais, or the ‘Les vitrines de Noël’ as we call them here. Their homage to natural elements and woodland creatures felt like stepping into a magical forest. This year, I was curious to see how they’d reimagine the holiday spirit. The result? A vibrant display bursting with bold, candy-like colors and playful characters.
I’ll take you along on my visit to the Christmas windows in the beautiful Le Marais.
The magical Christmas windows of BHV Le Marais
Right across from the iconic Hôtel de Ville, BHV Le Marais is back with a spectacular holiday showcase for 2024. This year’s Chritstmas windows, Les vitrines de Noël, designed by French illustrator Limistic, invite you into a cheeky wonderland. Mischievous lutins—tiny, lively elves—dance and play within glowing displays that transform the street into a dreamlike world.
The colors are striking: think bubblegum pink, vibrant green, and icy blue. One standout window features a cozy pink fireplace where these playful elves seem to live. Seeing the displays during the day offers one experience—busy crowds and the hustle of city life provide a sharp contrast. But visit at night, and you’ll step into pure magic. The lights, the glowing Christmas trees, and the festive music combine to create a moment that feels utterly enchanting.
What to do at BHV during the holidays
The Christmas magic isn’t just outside. BHV Le Marais invites you to join in the celebrations with creative workshops on the second floor, where you can craft holiday decorations. On the fifth floor, Santa Claus himself is waiting for a festive photo session, perfect for capturing holiday memories. These activities run until December 23, so there’s plenty of time to dive into the Christmas spirit.
